How it All Started

Angela Velarde founded Mexica Empire LLC in 2025. Her artwork is a reflection of her upbringing growing up in both Mexico and Los Angeles, CA. She loves to mix traditional and modern styles of Mexican art and culture in her artwork. All throughout her artwork, you'll find fun and bright colors. Through Mexica Empire, she hopes to highlight the beauty in Latine culture while empowering her community.

Fun facts: During the weekends, you can find her exploring new spots in LA with her daughter and husband, drinking boba, or finding a new bookstore spot. 

She's currently based in Los Angeles, CA.
